Krabbe disease; Galactosylcerebrosidase deficiency; Galactosylcereamidase deficiency Krabbe disease is an inherited disorder characterized by a deficiency of the enzyme galactocerebroside beta-galactosidase (galactosylcereamidase). It results in destruction of myelin, a fatty material that surrounds and insulates many of the nerves.
